In 1885 two football clubs were founded on opposite sides of the town of Inverness. Over the next 109 years both sides enjoyed glory and silverware both within the Highland football league & against more "prestigious" opposition in the Scottish F.A. cup. Those two sides were Inverness Thistle F.C. & Caledonian F.C. In 1994 the two sides merged to attain Scottish League status, in the six years since Inverness Caledonian Thistle F.C. have progressed from the Scottish 3rd to 1st division. |
